Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program

An incentive to support you in the stewardship of your forest!

The Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program (MFTIP) is a voluntary program that offers a property tax reduction on well managed forest land in Ontario.

To apply you need to have management plan for your forest - a key tool in caring for your land and helps to ensure good forestry practices and stewardship principles will be followed on your property.

Qualifying forest areas will be classified as a managed forest and taxed at 25% the base residential rate.

MFTIP is an Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) program administered in partnership with the Ontario Forestry Association and the Ontario Woodlot Association.
